I Have The Pleasure Of Volunteering My Service At Bilal...

Over the past semester, I have had the pleasure of volunteering my services to Bilal Oromo Dawa Center in Fridley, Minnesota as a tutor and person of influence to children ages 6-18. Bilal Oromo Dawa Center’s (BODC) mission statement is as follows: Bilal Oromo Dawa Center is a charitable, religious, social, cultural, educational nonprofit organization dedicated to serve the Muslim community. As I have come to find out, BODC is a community center that offers many different services for all its community members. The services range from tutoring services, weekend school for Islamic studies, funeral services, Friday congregational prayers, family and marriage counseling, youth sports, and general community services. BODC is a relatively new organization; however, they stem from Tawfiq Islamic Center in North Minneapolis. Tawfiq Islamic Center (TIC) has been open to the community since 2004 and is still open. TIC and BODC share a similar community member base and actively cooperat e to better the community. I have been aware of TIC since it was opened on inaugural day and practically grew up in that facility as I attended practically every event they have set up. I attended weekend school during my adolescence, and I eventually became a teacher’s assistant for the program. It would be an understatement to say that I always felt indebted to the community for playing a large role in my childhood. I continued to teach Arabic and Islamic studies there for a couple of years before

CBCSS, AN INNOVATION IN UNVERSITY EDUCATION: A STUDY FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF COLLEGE TEACHERS OF MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY IN KERALA KEVIN THOMAS CHACKO NITHA MARIA SHAJI Research Scholar 2nd Year MA English Literature SB college, Changanasserry Dept of English Kottayam, Kerala Pondicherry University ABSTRACT Indian higher education system is both enormous and complex. It has unleashed a major program of reforms. In purview with such reforms University Grants Commission (UGC) has made many changes with regard to the higher education system. CBCSS or ‘Choice based Credit Semester and grading pattern ‘was a prominent reform. Mahatma Gandhi regulations are framed in accordance with UGC guidelines. The purpose of this study was to better understand the innovations in University education and CBCSS from the perspective of teachers of colleges falling under MG University. INTRODUCTION Indian Education System is one of the largest and oldest systems found anywhere in the world. Unfortunately such an old system has not been evolved as best learning and training system globally and this pitiable situation have been reflected across elementary to tertiary level. Tertiary education earlier was offered by Universities from their own premises. Earlier, the teaching and learning process were based on annual scheme or end-of-the-year examination method, where evaluation of the students’ performance was taken once in a year. Infant Well Child Asia Samples for Students †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Infant Well Child In Asia. Answer: The history that I will record for the baby at second month include the following, the sleeping pattern of the baby, bowels movements and the eating habits of the baby. I will also seek to know how whether the baby can push up on forearms as well the how the baby responds when talked to and the head control. At sixth month of birth I will seek historical information on whether the child can take solid food, motor fine and gross skills, whether the baby is interested in the world around him/her and the hearing of the child. At 6th month I will administer vaccinations on hepatitis B, Pneumococcal, Hib and Polio vaccines. At 9th month of birth I will also seek to know whether the baby can point at the objects, crawling and the sleeping pattern of the baby especially during the night. At nine months the baby will receive any other immunization that he/she might have missed or flu vaccination if its flu period. (Slater, 2011) The developmental tool used to measure progress of baby Asia are growth in physical conditions such as height, weight, and development of psychomotor activities. This tool is reliable and valid because during the period of 2-9 months of the growth the baby will experience a number of physical growths that can be seen and measured easily therefore the tool was correct to be used for measuring the baby development. The baby score well on the measures of the tool as she had corresponding height and weight as well as Psychomotor skills through out her age period where the tool was used to gauge and measure her growth and development. I will educate her parents or cares on how to be observant of the child actions or reactions to the environment as this is the main mode of communication the child will use to communicate about his or her wellbeing. One Evil Summer Essays - Nikita, Amanda, Ready Or Not,

One Evil Summer It's finally summer and a time to do what you want and have as much fun as you can. Well that's not the case with Amanda Conklin's who lives in a cruel and crazy town on a very scary street, Fear Street. Amanda was going threw a lot of bad tuff times, like when the town accused her of lighting an old mans house on fire, or the time when she was accused of stealing from her school gym. Amanda was also doing fairly bad in school and especially at the end of her school year. Amanda was so frustrated that she told everyone she would soon run away and a few nights that exactly what she did and on that night she was hit by car and the next morning she was sent to a mental hospital nearby her home. She then came out of the mental hospital a month later and went back to school. The bad thing was tat she didn't know any of the stuff they were studying and there was only one week left of school. She was doing terrible in school and on last day of school she got her report card and it was terrible. When she came home he showed it to her mother and it was recommended that she should go to summer school. So the summer that Amanda thought would be the greatest summer yet was turned into the worst. Amanda's family decided to move the family to a nearby beach in Seahaven. In Saehaven Amanda was sent to summer school and hated it. Amanda's parents aid that they wer going on a 3week trip and already have everything planned. Amanda's brother and sister were going to be baby sat by who was said to be the town's best baby sitter, her name was Chrissy Meleings. Chrissy was known as the best baby sitter Amandas sister and brother loved her and so did the rest of the town but Amanda had a feeling there was something wrong with her. So Amanda started asking around to see if Chrissie was bad or not. It took long but she found out about her reacent babysitttings from her friend heather and found out that Amanda would kill any animals of yours steal toys and it is rumored that she killed some of the kids she babysat. Amanda was going crazy and it was the second week since Christie has been babysitting her sister and brother and Amanda noticed her cat was missing she then searched all around for it. She couldn't find her cat for two days and started saying that Chrissy killed her cat and not to many people believed her. Two days later while Amanda was telling everyone about the cat incident and Chrissy walked up with the cat and she said " Oh if you were wondering where your cat was I sent it to the vet. Amanda regretted ever thinking Chrissy was a bad person until she found her cat dead and her sister with scars all over her head, arms legs and she couldn't find her brother. To find who killed Amandas cat and scarred her and where her brother is read this great book written by R.L. Stine. I really liked this book a lot because it made me keep wanting to read on and it made me think certain things and then they just went a different way. For example when Amanda said Chrissy killed her cat I believed that Chrissy did kill her cat. This book also had a lot of suspense and was scary at times. I would recommend this book to kids between the ages of 10- 14.

Circuit Lab Report Sample

Circuit Lab Report Paper A millimeter is an instrument designed to measure electric current, voltage, and usually resistance, typically over several ranges of value. The millimeter has different programs to measure voltage, current, resistance, etc. Produced from one of two types of circuits. The first type of circuit is a series circuit. A series circuit is a circuit in which the components are arranged end to end in such a way that the electric current flows through the first component, through the next component, and so on, until it reaches the source again. In contrast, a parallel circuit is a circuit in which the has more than one resistor and as multiple paths to move along. The main purpose of this lab was to prove the laws of Ohm and Kerchief. On another note, being able to take part in this lab taught my partner and I the fundamental skills of constructing series and parallel circuit and using a millimeter to calculate the current and voltage of a circuit. Live that if we only have the basic materials to conduct electricity (such as resistors, alligator clip, cords, a millimeter, and a power source), then we can still prove the that the laws that Ohm and Kerchief established are in fact reliable resources for calculating data regarding certain electrical circuits. Vive reached this hypothesis because Ohms laws and Kerchiefs two laws are supposed to be laws used for any electrical circuits. Based on this, these three laws should be able to be validated With this experiment. Assemble circuit as seen in figure 3 and set millimeter back to current 2. Install at all three points at both junctions 3. See if the current entering the junction is equal to the current leaving the junctions Discussion Our lab in general, went fairly well. We took our time and did not rush through his lab, sows could get the best results, but we did have some trouble with our Millimeter on more than one occasion, For example, while we were attempting to price Ohms Law and Kerchiefs Voltage Law. The Millimeter, at first was acting up and completely just not working, but we then realized that it was not set on the correct measuring task. Then, on the same two labs, we were getting readings from the Millimeter that made no sense, It told us that the current for the circuit was 367. 83 Ohms which for the type of circuit that we built, was impossible. After fixing the problem with the Millimeter and proving Ohms Law and Kerchiefs Voltage Law, eve moved onto the Current Law that Kerchief established. This time, the problem wasnt the Millimeter, or the resistors, or the power supply, or anything else. It avgas us. We were overall a bit confused on how the circuit was created and it took a long time to eventually construct and then prove. Even though the problems were an annoyance, the lab was very insightful and taught us a lot about electric currents and circuits. Conclusion At the conclusion of this experiment, our results supported our hypothesis greatly even though our numbers were not a hundred percent on point. But here is room for error, like the fact that the power supply was not great quality and doesnt give exactly 3 volts or 4. Volts or any of that, Also, the resistors are not high-quality resistors and are also worn down trot years of use, so they dont give exactly 11000 / 10,000 Ohms like we were looking for. Other sources tot error included the Millimeter, which was not exact because the Millimeter rounds numbers, the Alligator clips, which are (like the power supply and resistors) not the best and shed energy, and our calculations, which could have suffered from any addition or multiplication or division error,

Discuss the Relationship between money and Ideals in Howard essays

Discuss the Relationship between money and Ideals in Howard essays The attempt to connect the two different worlds of money and ideals is a central theme in E.M Forsters Howards End. The concept of money is most strongly represented by the Wilcox family. Idealism and intellectualism are the driving forces of the Schlegels especially the younger sister Helen. Establishing the rainbow bridge (page 187) between these two is Margaret Schlegel, the novels protagonist. The central relationship in the novel is between Henry Wilcox, who has made his fortune through the rubber industry, and the elder Schlegel sister, Margaret. The novel follows their courtship and consequent marriage through a journey of obstacles and revelations. Henry Wilcox is driven by money and power with little time for culture and intellectual thought. He is obtuse but also kindly. Margaret is an intellectual who cares for the troubles of the world but cares most for the welfare of her siblings and her husband. The other characters in the novel represent more extreme types. Helen, Margarets much loved younger sister, is a bohemian idealist who responds passionately to situations. Charles Wilcox is the most prosaic character. The clerk, Leonard Bast, is tormented by a glimpse of societys privileged he is at the extreme verge of gentility and though not in the abyss (page 58) he is aware of it. His gaudy wife, Jacky, represents the seedier side of society. She is in the abyss but does not seem aware of it. Mrs Munt (Aunt Juley) is awfully English, with little genuine understanding of Art and Literature but a great understanding of its importance in cultured society. Mrs Wilcox represents an ideal wife, a gentle diplomat who is not passionate about anything that might be controversial but is passionate that people should have a home. The upbringing of the Schlegel sisters is one of liberal idealism from their German fa...

Types of composite materials Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Types of composite materials - Research Paper Example One good example of a composite material is the disk brake pad. The disk brake pad is made up of ceramic particles that are often times entrenched in soft metal matrix. Other examples include shower stalls, bathtubs and fiberglass. A mud brick is made up of clay, mud, sand and water in a process that is free of fire and is mixed with the aid of binding material including rice husks, coffee husks or maize chaff. This has been practiced since time memorial in the ancient civilization. In mud bricks the matrix is the mad whereas the reinforcing materials are the rice husks, coffee husks or maize chaff. Mud bricks are known to perform well under compression, however when bending forces are exerted on they tend to cave in. This, on further explanation is due to bending forces exerting a tension force. Mud bricks tend to resist pulling forces acting on them, but they tend to be weak when they are crumpled. It is common practice to leave the stiff mixture to dry in the sun for duration of about four weeks. This is common in places where the weather is warmer and there is diminutive timber to provide for the fuel for use in kilns. The use of stucco has been used to increase the life of mud bricks when the kiln dried mud bricks are placed on them. Mud bricks are used in construction industry for building houses, for example, in the implementation of adobe which is an energy saving and environmentally safe way to insulate a house (Measures 126). It is also used in constructing insulation material such as furnace. In this case it could be used to melt metal such as aluminum for making aircraft components. Laminate is a kind of composite material that is made up of layers or lamina that have unidirectional composite material. Some of the examples of laminar composite materials include continuous and aligned fiber reinforced plastics with matrix such as epoxy and polyester (Inova 56). In the
